LANDSCAPE DESIGN AND GARDEN DESIGN

We are a London based landscape practice creating beautiful and sustainable outdoor spaces big and small.

We have extensive experience working closely with early years teams, nurseries, schools, PTAs, children's centres, tenants and friends groups, housing associations and councils.

We have experience in public consultation and we lead art and nature workshops as part of our engagement and consultation process. We have hands on forest school experience and for over 10 years have been a volunteer organiser focussing the energy of the Friends of local park.

We also offer standalone workshops for community groups and schools.

We can provide advice on all types of landscape schemes and offer informal appraisals in support of planning appplications.

Special interests include planting design, designing for play and parks of all shapes and sizes.

WHAT WE DO

moh_design likes to work with public and private sector clients, and provide a consultancy service to architectural and engineering practices. Projects have included public parks,  historical visitor attractions, childrens' centres, nursery and school grounds, housing estates, community gardens and orchards.

OUR APPROACH

Our designs emerge from an understanding of the history, people, ecology, landform and vegetation of the site.

Each project evolves in response to the brief in a sensitive and unique way, with its own style. Our designs work on many different levels, to set the new design within the existing landscape.

PLANTING SCHEMES

We all know a carpet of spring bulbs, the coming of the cherry blossom, the scent of honey suckle on a summer evening and the silhouette of a noble tree can lift our spirits. So we create our planting schemes with this in mind. We choose plants appropriate for the landscape and for the story we want to tell. Where we see an opportunity, however small,  we integrate wildlife friendly plants.

WORKSHOPS

We  run art and wildlife workshops:

1. to create informal conversations around the

site and engage a wider interest

2. to make artwork that will be integrated into

    the final build

We also run stand alone workshops for school and community groups.

From the client:

"Rachel Mooney is an accomplished designer who creates spaces which do more than just respond to a brief - they give the user something special and durable. The service I received was complete, providing beautiful and innovative designs, clever planting, thorough detailing, careful tendering and cost control, with good relationships, all combined with sensitivity to user need and openness in consultation" .
